The City Springs The City Springs is a body of images made in New York City during the year of 2020 and into the spring of 2021.
Pictorially, I wanted to try and make work that was able to describe the city in a way that felt contemporary, unaltered and that could celebrate the many complex layers, colors and overlapping lives. With restrictions implemented by the Covid 19 pandemic, I began looking out my front door, photographing on walks with my dog or trips to the grocery store with my wife. I stripped down my practice to create the opportunity for the photographs to surprise me. A new way of looking emerged and the city was able to reveal itself to me in a photographic language that felt like my own.
The City Springs is like my own personal album of New York that I hope to continue to grow for years to come.
